Roberta
Registered Nurse, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Board Certified Lactation Consultant. I have worked in the area of mother/baby providing direct nursing care and breastfeeding support for over 25 years. I have been an RN, IBCLC in a busy hospital setting (in patient and out patient) for the last 12 years and have been providing private in-home visits for the last 9 years.
To keep my knowledge current, I regularly attend conferences and workshops so I can continue to provide excellent evidence based care.
My passion for breastfeeding came with the infant feeding portion of my nursing program. Coming from an exclusively bottle-feeding family, I was fascinated with the perfect nutrition and bonding process that breastfeeding provided.
Even before I had my own children, I worked tirelessly to help my patients achieve breastfeeding success. This was during a time when all babies were bottle fed in the hospital (very frustrating at times).
I then had my children with the thought breastfeeding would be easy since I knew so much about breastfeeding. However, breastfeeding was far from easy for me. I was unable to achieve my long-term breastfeeding goals as I was unable to access the appropriate help needed to overcome my problems. This was very painful for me and my children.
It was then that I dedicated myself to increasing my knowledge and skill in the field of human lactation. My goal is to help moms and babies overcome problems & avoid common pitfalls to have a great breastfeeding journey.
I have helped hundreds, if not thousands, of families achieve breastfeeding success over the span of my career. I can help you achieve your breastfeeding goals!

Sharlene
I became a registered nurse in 1998, and earned my Bachelor’s in Science degree in 1999. Over the years I have worked in hospital, clinic, and public health settings.
I have had an affinity for babies my entire life and decided to devote my career to supporting families right from the start. My career began as Mother-baby nurse. I then went on to train as a childbirth educator in 2013 and in 2014 became an international board-certified Lactation Consultant.
I currently work as an inpatient, out patient and private practice lactation consultant. Knowledge is power; so I am always on the lookout for new evidence based information to help my clients. Reading books, looking through online resources and I especially enjoy conferences. Networking with colleagues is an amazing opportunity to learn and grow.
Thank you for letting me be a part of your parenting journey.

Jennifer

Hello, my name is Jennifer. I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) from University of California San Diego. Breastfeeding my daughter was a real struggle for me. I did not have the confidence, nor the help needed at the time. I did not have the resources or the education on breastfeeding and that would have helped me in my situation. It has been a passion of mine to help others with similar challenges that I had and that’s when I decided to work towards my degree. Every mom deserves to have someone they can go to for support and help. I am passionate about breastfeeding education and awareness, and I strive to provide exceptional care for families.

Maria

I'm Maria, a passionate Board-Certified Lactation Consultant and Bachelor prepared Registered Nurse. I believe in the innate wisdom of mothers and babies and in supporting women to step into their power as the life force of future generations. I have over thirteen years of experience with lactation, eight as an IBCLC, and have been a Registered Nurse since 2014. I am deeply committed to perinatal wellness, human lactation, and maternal mental health. I hold these perspectives at the forefront of my practice as an RN IBCLC, understanding the vital role that breastfeeding plays in the overall well-being of mothers and infants and, thus, the future of humanity.
My personal and professional goal is to "mother the mother." Throughout my career, countless mothers and babies have inspired me and helped me to acquire extensive knowledge and skills to support mothers in inpatient and outpatient settings, to help friends and family within my community, and also within a birthing center. I have personally experienced various aspects of lactation, including breastfeeding after infertility, lactation with breast implants, battling oversupply, and tandem nursing for two years. As a seasoned mother of three and RN-prepared IBCLC, I offer compassionate counseling and evidence-based strategies balanced by a down-to-earth perspective. I believe in empowering mothers and families with knowledge, skills, and support to successfully and joyfully navigate their breastfeeding journey.

Being a mom has been the most rewarding job I've ever had. As my children transitioned into adulthood, I found a new calling in nursing, which I believe is the next best thing to motherhood itself. Since 2016, I have embarked on a fulfilling career as a registered nurse, specializing in obstetrics. Working in various areas such as labor and delivery and mother-baby care, my unwavering passion for supporting mothers and babies has continuously fueled my drive for ongoing educational growth.
During my time as a bedside nurse, I diligently pursued my Bachelor's in Nursing, obtained my Registered Nursing Certification in Maternal Newborn, and, most significantly, achieved my International Board Certification in Lactation Consulting an the University of San Diego. These credentials have equipped me with the knowledge and skills needed to provide comprehensive care to mothers and empower them on their breastfeeding journeys.
As a new mom, I personally encountered challenges with breastfeeding and felt the lack of available education and support at that time. It was only with the birth of my second child that I discovered the invaluable resources and assistance that exist to help mothers succeed in their breastfeeding goals. Drawing from my own diverse experiences and the profound interactions I've had with fellow mommas in the hospital, my dedication to lactation consulting has blossomed into an unwavering passion.
My ultimate ambition is for all mommas to feel empowered, educated, and supported throughout their unique breastfeeding journeys. Together, let's ensure that no momma feels alone or uninformed when it comes to nourishing and nurturing their precious little ones..
